[ there really isn't a point in beating around the bush around it - he hadn't planned on that, or else he might have opened this conversations differently. so now, to give a well-rehearsed spiel, ]
I do not currently have a Witch bond. As the months pass without one, I'm finding the moons increasingly trying. Ferality is not something I would like to chance, especially as a fully-changed Dragon.
Would you be open to forming a temporary bond with me?
... I'm sure it will be an experience for you, then. Thankfully, nothing quite as in-depth as a true bond, but just enough that it can be [ how to put this. ] surprising.
[On the day of the holiday, a plate of homemade cookies and a sample of herbal tea mysteriously appears on his doorstep. The wrapping is decorated with a fresh lily flower (actually a Fae magic product, designed to fade away from existence in a few hours) and a ribbon. The attached handwritten note reads as follows:]
Happy Modranicht! Let’s have another great year here in Aefenglom! See, there was nothing scary about what I was going to do!
[ it's viren's mistake that he hadn't relayed this venture as urgent, torrid with impatience as he counts the minutes until sieg's arrival. the exterior of viren's townhouse is dark and slightly foreboding; and, perhaps, unmistakable due to that. but a second after sieg's knocking (perhaps even mid-knock), the door peeks ajar. at the other side of it, viren beckons him hurriedly inward as an apparent greeting; the moment sieg steps through its threshold, he claps it shut, complete with the noise of a lock clicking into place. ]
[ despite his sternness, there is a certain... fervent excitement to his gaze. he peers at sieg a moment, pulling at his beard as he debates, before resting at a final decision. moving past the witch, he gestures for sieg to follow, ]
[ as viren guides him to the other room, a room that looks to be one for entertaining company (it's symbolic, really, as infrequent as viren properly utilizes it); in its center is a low, oblong table of dark wood. and on that looks to be -- a dragon's leg severed from the shin down, charcoal in color but for splashes of sunset hues. ]
[ he feels elated for its possession (if somewhere reserved, sieg's reaction to all of this pending), evident through the curl of his smile and the hum of it through their bund. he gestures to his trophy with a flourish, ]
[ bless you, sieg, for rolling with this. viren had certainly been prepared for horror, but any damage control efforts thus far seem unnecessary... he bows his head with apparent gratitude. ]
Of course.... So long as it wouldn't take so long that any efforts would be in vain.
[ spoken lightly; then it might become less about transformation, more about necromancy. which he is onboard with, but. you know. ]
It was a gift [ was it, though? though the owner of the leg is hard to mistake to viren, he can't know the deliverer. there's a noted pause, then, as he looks uncertain for a moment. "friend" may be too strong a word, even if he'd like it to be true: ] ... from an acquaintance.
[ the uncertainty vanishes at sieg's following question. that, viren at least knows what to expect of decomposition. ]
Here, where it's warmer? [ and it is, having the area enchanted against the cold, cold weather. he prefers it. ] But a few days for the decomposition to take place. Outside, you'd have more time.
[ an eyebrow lifts, pointedly. in other words, sieg may want to invest in freezing it for a time, if he thinks that time necessary. ]
[ sieg will find a prettily-wrapped package at his doorstep. inside is a small chest; it may not be made of anything authentically dragonic (he would've hoarded it, otherwise), but its texture and shine is assuredly convincing. the eye at its front, complete with a nictitating membrane, blinks on occasion as it peers this way and that.
its comes with a note, ]
Happy Modranicht, Sieg.
This chest can withstand up to a Chimera's strength. It's only openable by its owner. I hope you're able to find good use for it.
[ included, also, is a small slip of paper - something that states 'one free dragon ride.' (use wisely!) ]

I do not currently have a Witch bond.
As the months pass without one, I'm finding the moons increasingly trying. Ferality is not something I would like to chance, especially as a fully-changed Dragon.
Would you be open to forming a temporary bond with me?
no subject
Sieg's been here for about a month, and forming a bond is something that would be beneficial to the both of them.]
I don't have any bonds at the moment. I would be open to that. This is the one with the potion, correct?
no subject
Correct.
Have you ever had a temporary bond before, either?
no subject
No, this will be my first one here.
no subject
Thankfully, nothing quite as in-depth as a true bond, but just enough that it can be [ how to put this. ] surprising.
no subject
What should I be expecting?
no subject
[ pause. ]
But I'm also sure that's nothing we can't handle.
When are you free to do this?
no subject
That's fine.
I'm free right now. Otherwise, I'm free any time other than Wednesday evenings.

Are you able to come by DiplomaTea?

[ he sends an address. ]
I'm at my home. Please come when you're able.
no subject
There's a quiet knocking at Viren's door.]

I'm glad you managed to find the place.
[ welcome to the humble abode. ]
[ despite his sternness, there is a certain... fervent excitement to his gaze. he peers at sieg a moment, pulling at his beard as he debates, before resting at a final decision. moving past the witch, he gestures for sieg to follow, ]
This way.

Sieg follows Viren in step, taking in the scenery of the inside of his house.]
What are we doing today?
no subject
[ he feels elated for its possession (if somewhere reserved, sieg's reaction to all of this pending), evident through the curl of his smile and the hum of it through their bund. he gestures to his trophy with a flourish, ]
I'd like to preserve this as best we're able.
no subject
And Viren... Is that what cats feel when they bring home a hunt?]
I haven't done a lot of preservation before, so it might take a bit.
[But basically he's locking it into its current form, right? It's a little like transformation.]
no subject
Of course.... So long as it wouldn't take so long that any efforts would be in vain.
[ spoken lightly; then it might become less about transformation, more about necromancy. which he is onboard with, but. you know. ]
You're up for the task, then?
no subject
[Man, he's seen his share of horror. This is low on that scale. Not that he's thrilled about it.]
How long do you think it would take to decompose?
