[He's made his way into the study, kind of hoping nobody else would be there. It's a good place to write down his feelings and thoughts. Especially because he can't take anything out of this place.

It's hard to miss somebody else here, especially one of the younger participants.]

Nope, it's fine. [...] Guess this is turning into a pretty familiar situation for you, huh?

In some ways it is. We never had dreams of people's deaths.

That was pretty unexpected. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of it.

I know we had to be alerted to a death, but wasn't seeing the coffin enough?

With any luck, it'll at least provide a clue to catching her killer.

The fire? It's hard to say since we can't see her body through the glass of the coffin.

But it sounds like we're getting all of the evidence tomorrow.

Yup. For the trial, where we have to find the culprit—and execute them, apparently.

... Right. I'm not used to this part either.

Usually it was straight combat, whoever was alive was the victor.

[This whole thing has many more steps.]

That'd probably be a lot simpler and quicker. Then again, I don't know how many people here are actually suited for combat...

[Sieg definitely isn't suited for combat when he's like this. His skills make him sound like a househusband.]

According to the statues, not all of us.

Nope. Guess they had to make things a little fair for all of us. Tomorrow will probably be a matter of our smarts.

Yeah...Are you used to solving things like this?

Murders? Not usually.

I've only had one experience trying to solve a series of murders.

Well, that's more than most people, probably. We also do have a few detectives, assuming none of them were the murderer.

What are you using to rule people out?

Nothing. Right now, anyone could be the killer. Even you or me.

[he pauses.]

Though considering the likely motives, there's a decent chance it wasn't someone aligned with the same god as Shiki. However, that's also assuming her killer even had that piece of info.

I feel like I'd remember that.

I don't know how many people are close enough to each other that they'd share that information.

Pretty much. I'll admit I know which alignment Shiki was, but it doesn't mean anything until we have a smaller pool of suspects.

Huh... I haven't told anybody mine.

Our suspect pool is large. I don't know if the fire in the dream has much to do with what really happened to her.

Neither have I, but some people are more willing. In any case, everything Shiki said about her god matched up with info I already had, so I doubt she was lying.

... Maybe not. It'll depend on the evidence we get tomorrow.

Did you talk to her god?

It's only tomorrow, but it feels like a long wait.

Nope. They didn't like me.

[he nods.]

Well, try to get some rest anyway. We're probably going to need it.
