[ there really isn't a point in beating around the bush around it - he hadn't planned on that, or else he might have opened this conversations differently. so now, to give a well-rehearsed spiel, ]

I do not currently have a Witch bond.
As the months pass without one, I'm finding the moons increasingly trying. Ferality is not something I would like to chance, especially as a fully-changed Dragon.

Would you be open to forming a temporary bond with me?

[It's not something incredibly urgent, he can't help be somehow relieved. Then again, Viren has no reason to contact him if it was dire.

Sieg's been here for about a month, and forming a bond is something that would be beneficial to the both of them.]

I don't have any bonds at the moment. I would be open to that. This is the one with the potion, correct?

[ oh. hm. ]

Have you ever had a temporary bond before, either?

No, this will be my first one here.

... I'm sure it will be an experience for you, then.
Thankfully, nothing quite as in-depth as a true bond, but just enough that it can be [ how to put this. ] surprising.

What should I be expecting?

The emotional component of it can, at times, be burdensome.

[ pause. ]

But I'm also sure that's nothing we can't handle.
When are you free to do this?

[If that's all it is, they'll both be fine. Or at least, Sieg assumes that will be the case.]

[ insert directions here. they are v detailed and, hopefully, clear. ]

I will have the potions ready.

[It doesn't take him too long to get to the shop, looking around for Viren.]

[ the teashop is very near to closing-up -- it's likely after hours at this time, although with viren having expected a guest, the front doors had remained unlocked. everything is very tidy, and hardly few others left to loiter. when the witch enters, he nods. ]

Sieg. I appreciate your timeliness.

[ with a fleeting a smile, he gestures to a table. placed upon the table is a set of tea, and most notably, potions for the bonds. this is very much the approach he's taken to other temporary bonds, of which he'd register as businesslike interactions. ]

I'm afraid I didn't even ask if you enjoyed tea.

[Sieg isn't really against crowds or things like that, but he's also not the type to go seeking them out. The shop in this state feels comfortable to him as he approaches the table, a small smile on his face.]

I'd rather not keep you waiting.

I don't mind it.

[Which is approximately how he feels about just about everything. Tea doesn't have much of a texture to it, after all.]

I'm glad to hear that.

[ because it is, indeed, hot leaf water. thankfully, viren isn't feeling purposelessly assoholish enough for him to have brewed ardric's warmth for the two of them. it's just adelheid's heart, actually -- sweet, floral, easy on the senses. ]

[ having seated himself, he pours a cup for sieg and slides it over. it's steaming hot, but it'll have time cool, because now he will hold out an intricate, bottled potion for the other man to accept. ]

[Even if Viren had brewed Ardric's Warmth, Sieg wouldn't have been able to taste a bit of it. That goes just the same with Adelheid's Heart. The construction of this body didn't prioritize that sense.

For now though, he'll take the potion.]

Do we ingest it at the same time?

That would be the idea.

[ viren uncorks his potion with a satisfactory pop. it's been several months since he's had a witch's bond, even if this one should be temporary, and thus been granted the full effects of its magic. he is, dare say, somewhat (very) excited for this. ]

[ with a quirk of his mouth, he lifts his potion. bottoms up, you two. ]

[Sieg mirrors him and downs the bottle. If it has any kind of taste, Sieg's expression doesn't give anything away.]

[ viren finishes his potion, setting its bottle gently back against the table's surface. he slowly feels the bond beginning to take hold; become aware of not just himself, but another entity. it's always somewhat strange, at first, registering the other on such an -- unavoidably personal level. ]

[ there's a deep exhale from him; relief, probably. he lifts his gaze. ]

I should have mentioned, [ he really should have, but had neglected to in his excited haste -- he hopes sieg already realizes this part ] that making physical contact should lend efficiency to a Bond.

[On Sieg's end his emotions come through muted, even as the bond becomes something tangible, likely due to the temporary nature.

He puts a hand on the table.]

Would holding hands be alright for you?

[bloodwit]

[ and likewise muted on his end, revealing nothing terribly as colorful as a true bond may, but perhaps sieg will come to find that viren feels -- emotions hotly, powerfully, even if this shrouds a much colder core. ]

Oh. [ here he had just mentioned this, and he's somehow surprised. ] Yes.

[ touches his... hand?! like, gently lays his fingers atop sieg's. ]

[There's a brief flit of surprise, it only stays for a moment. Is it possible he somehow remembered hand holding incorrectly? Is the way Viren's doing it the correct way?

He remembers considerably more contact, but was that possibly because of the person he was holding hands with?

It's too awkward to change the grip, they don't know each other that well. When in doubt, he can always just ask.]

Is this... how hand holding works?

[ viren stares. and then narrows his eyes. if he didn't feel the muted emotion through their bond, he might think sieg was making fun of the situation. but, no: there's genuine consternation afoot here. ]

[ he curls his fingers, taking sieg's hand into a loose, but proper, grip. ]

Is that better?
